For fashion week, the McQueens events team were in great demand! Mulberry’s latest SS14 collection, Quintessentially English, was unveiled at Claridge’s, and models made their entrance through a divine Georgian country house facade, dressed with rambling ivy and adorned with wild scented roses, courtesy of McQueens . The exclusive guests took their seats against a backdrop of urns tumbling over with English garden flowers, again by the McQ Flowers team. Take a look behind-the-scenes with our video
We’re always delighted to take to the road and demonstrate to audiences what makes McQueens so special. So when an invitation arrived on our mat from Babington House in Somerset to reveal the secrets of our displays to members of the luxurious club, we just had to say yes! Designing to the theme ‘Indian Summer’, we devised a step-by-step demonstration with lots of hands-on participation from delighted guests who were amazed at what they achieved (with a little help from us).
With accompanying fanfare and delicious summer cocktails, the new McQueens website was launched at our HQ in Clerkenwell to huge acclaim during London Fashion week. Guests were served champagne, cocktails and canapés while McQueens supremo Kally Ellis unveiled the new McQ Flowers website, designed by Tourist, and thanked everyone involved, especially McQ’s website mastermind Duncan McCabe.

We’re always happy to style flowers for the post-Wimbledon Championship ball each year, and celebrating Andy Murray’s historic victory in the men’s singles made the event quite unforgettable this year.
Murray had battled bravely through soaring temperatures on Centre Court, so no wonder the hottest ticket in town was the celebration champions’ dinner staged that evening at the Intercontinental Hotel on Park Lane. All heads turned for our beautiful hydrangea ‘tennis balls’ in the All England Club colours of purple and green.
The Connaught Hotel’s landmark fountain was the setting for a fabulous McQueens makeover to celebrate the launch of a very special jewellery collection. Inspired by the iconic Dom Pérignon shield, Stephen Webster unveiled his limited edition collection of pendants and cufflinks, and the McQueens team created a wonderful ‘weeping willow’ outside the hotel to mark the occasion. Back inside, McQueens also dressed the interior for a very exclusive performance by singer-songwriter extraordinaire, Jessie Ware.

House & Garden magazine hosted a special reader event in June: a design forum panel about the latest trends in luxury hotel interiors. Chaired by House & Garden editor Pamela Goodman at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour, panel speakers included award-winning designers and specialists and McQueen’s MD Kally Ellis.
Kally spoke about the innovative McQueens floral installations at The Grove, The Berkeley, The Connaught and Claridge’s (left), and how McQueens is forging ahead in creating breathtaking flower installations that complement the stylish interiors of these iconic London hotels.
